Summer’s been here for a minute, but now that we’re smack dab in the middle of it there’s no confusing it for another season. Long, hot summer days are upon us. What better way to beat the summer doldrums than to try out some abstract nails? We asked nail artist Queenie Nguyen for some inspiration, and lucky for us, she delivered. Modern Art
Abstract lines and negative space are two designs that are always in style. This fun look combines both trends to deliver a very modern result.
French Denim
Instead of the classic white French manicure, opt for an unexpected color, like this cool denim shade, to keep it fresh. This effortless and classy look complements everything from jeans to an evening gown.
Cherry Half Moons
You can never go wrong with a classic bright red in the summer! Paired with the half moon trend, this shade stands out even more. Bonus: this look grows out nicely and is easy to DIY at home.
Rainbow Butterflies
Butterflies are everywhere this summer, and for good reason — this cheery insect is a perfect summer motif. A great way to rock this trend is to pair it with a nude or sheer base so as not to overpower the art. Have fun with this one by choosing different colors for each finger.
Subtle + Chic
Thin black lines are the perfect, subtle accent to this light and neutral slanted french base. These abstract nails are so chic for everyday wear and go with everything. They will also grow out very nicely (always a plus!).
