Gabrielle is a special kind of beauty influencer: allow me to explain why. She’s creative with an eye for curating and crafting content that just hits different. You’d get a sense of this immediately just by glancing at her Instagram feed.

If Gabrielle vouches for a product, you know it’s something worth buying. That kind of realness in this space (that is anything but) is totally a breath of fresh air. She gets poached to try nearly every new skincare product that hits the market and she really knows how to cut through the bullshit.

The girl can draw up a killer cat eye and make it look seemingly effortless. Which, take it from someone who is cat eye challenged—it’s no easy feat. Not in the slightest. Case in point: this stunning neon. So good.

In her own words: “I’m a marketing guru, copywriter, trend analyst, creative and Social Media Manager by day, and a freelance content creator by night.”

“I obsess over pop culture, art, travel—all human behavior really, which influences me to create. Although, I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself too, particularly on days where I have two cups of tea and a three-course meal, each course made of skincare. I take full advantage of days where I can ‘do the most,’ like multi-mask, perfect my brows, and consume copious amounts of content, all in the name of self-care–or creative inspiration. But to be serious, I appreciate dewy skin, day #3 hair, and makeup that I can apply with my fingers.”

What’s your ideal night in?

GR

Cue up my favorite Netflix movie, while we lull into a tranquil state in matching Entireworld sweats.

TS

What’s your ideal night out?

GR

I believe a successful night out starts with re-runs of The Office & ends with $1 pizza.

TS

How do you Sunday?

GR

Sundays are inherently for getting your shit together, so you can look good and feel good going into the new week. Nothing I just said is revolutionary, but, for me, on Sunday life hits peak chaos and the ultimate goal is to reacquaint myself with that Saturday chill. Instinctively, I pretend to check things off my to-do list and find time to reset with entire head-to-toe treatments.

TS

What’s your self-care power move?

GR

Picture this: disconnecting for an entire day—challenge accepted. Anyone reading this is familiar with the concept of self care, which also comes in the form of mental health. I’m trying to break unhealthy habits and ease myself into a better personal chill. But when otherwise impractical, I try not to be too hard on myself.

“I appreciate dewy skin, day 3 hair, and makeup I can apply with my fingers.”

TS

How do you cope with tough days?

GR

Above all else, ask for help. I reach out to my support network and ask if they can take on my tough day with me.

TS

What’s currently on your want list?

GR

Travel, travel, then more travel. I have a very long travel want list for 2020, starting with somewhere warm then Japan.

TS

What’s the best thing social media has done for you? The worst?

GR

Social media is very tricky for me to measure. Currently working on both sides of it, I see it from many lenses. It can make us behave in strange ways where we share otherwise private moments of ourselves with strangers and, yet, it bridges time and space to connect so many, creating communities that might have never been. But, social media engineers are currently, like right at this moment, working to commodify our attention—amplifying a sense of consumerism on endless scroll. We’re all feeling it and I’m looking forward to the narrative/landscape changing.

TS

What’s a personal goal or project you are working towards?

GR

I have a few different projects in the works and ready to see where 2020 takes me.

TS

Let’s play F*ck, Marry, Kill skincare edition: cleanser, moisturizer, serum.

GR

Savage! F*ck serum, marry moisturizer, kill cleanser.

TS

And now makeup edition: mascara, blush, lipstick.

GR

F*ck mascara, marry blush, kill lipstick (let the record show, I answered that in less than 10 seconds).

TS

Describe beauty as you see it in a few words.

GR

Caring about yourself.
