We all know that beauty is what’s on the inside. However, that adage means different things for different people — after all, we are all wildly unique. For Tayler Jenkins, that means her spirituality. As a self-proclaimed mystic and founder of the witchy-cool site Listen To The Virgo, Tayler helps others find clarity, guidance, and beauty in their lives through astrology and tarot readings. We chatted with Tayler all about the relationship between spirituality and beauty, how she keeps her skin healthy and happy, and her ultimate self-care power move.

How did you get into astrology?

TJ

I got into astrology around my teenage years when I discovered my mom and I were both Virgos. I was so fascinated and intrigued by learning more about myself and the people around me. I’ve always looked at astrology from a psychological and intuitive point of view and it’s an extremely valuable tool in life. I’ve been studying Astrology for over a decade.

TS

What’s your big 3?

TJ

Virgo Sun, Virgo Moon, Scorpio Rising!

Tell us more about your site Listen To The Virgo and the readings you offer.

TJ

I had been doing readings for people for around five years just on a referral/client basis before I decided to create my website. I wanted to be able to teach people about astrology and spirituality, express myself, meet like-minded people and give guidance to those who need it.  Launching my website allowed me to reach more people, and since launching in 2020 I have done hundreds of readings for people all over the world. My readings are a lot different than the typical psychic/astrology reading you receive from someone. I make things very personal and unique, create custom graphics for my clients that they can save and look back on, and I focus on empowerment and healing in my readings.

How do astrology, spirituality, and beauty work together in your life?

TJ

Spirituality has helped me a lot when it comes to self-love. When you are feeling good internally, it can change so much and make life such a better experience for you externally. Connecting with the divine feminine within is also a really good spiritual practice for beauty, and feeling that energy in your life. We are all beautiful beings, and it’s about tapping into that connection and love you have within yourself.

TS

Tell us about your daily skincare routine! What do you use to keep your skin healthy and happy?

TJ

My skincare routine is pretty basic, non-stressful, and easy to keep up with. My morning skincare routine begins with washing my face with Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash. It’s made with coconut water and sea algae complex, and is amazing! After that I spray my face with rose water three times (don’t ask why three times, this may be an OCD thing lol). I stand by two rose waters right now: Heritage Store Rosewater Spray and Boscia Rosewater Mist are my favorites. Then I go in with Shea Moisture Daily Hydration Face Lotion for moisturizer. It’s made with coconut oil, coconut milk and acacia senegal, and is really hydrating. Then I put on sunscreen — right now I’m just using a generic Target brand sunscreen. After that I go in with my Awakened Rose Jade Facial Roller to reduce any inflammation, and help with under eye bags and face circulation.

My nighttime routine is pretty much the same, however I use Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream as my moisturizer. It’s a little thicker and I like to use it for overnight hydration. I go back and forth between using hyaluronic acid at night — less is more for me when it comes to my skincare routine overall. I also do a lip scrub at night and a face mask at least once a week.

What I put in my body is extremely important to me and I think that’s what really benefits my skin. I’ve been a vegetarian for almost seven years and also never drink soda. I mostly drink water or coffee throughout the day. I also really try not to shame myself or look down on myself if I get a blemish or have a break out. I find that when I stress out about things it makes them worse.

TS

What is the one skincare product or treatment that changed your life?

TJ

Honestly, finding a really good moisturizer changed my life. Moisturizer is my skin care key!

TS

What’s your self-care power move?

TJ

I look in the mirror and say “I love you,” while I’m getting ready for the day or whenever I need to hear it. That alone is a game-changer for your self-care routine.

TS

What’s your ideal Sunday situation?

TJ

My ideal Sunday involves sleeping in, a trip to the farmer’s market for fresh fruit and fresh flowers, a trip to the crystal shop, and then relaxing for the rest of the day. Sundays are my time to unwind, put a face mask on, clean, and focus on just being.

TS

In a few words, how do you define beauty?

TJ

Being yourself and loving yourself.
