Milk Makeup
Okay, I admit it: I’ve been a beauty product hoarder for years. In the not so distant past, it was common for my makeup bag to be splitting at the seams. Twice a year I could usually be found frantically refreshing the sale sections of Cult Beauty & Space NK like a maniac. The sight of $10.00 Pat McGrath Lipstick would have me breaking into a sweat, which I attribute to beauty FOMO. Fast forward to today. I’d like to think that I’m slightly more restrained now. Over the last 12 months I’ve concentrated on clearing out my stash and focusing on multitasking makeup to get the job done. Creating a more streamlined and personalized selection feels somewhat refreshing.
I love the idea of getting two or three different uses out of one item, saving time and saving cash. These multi-use products are also great for throwing in your handbag for midday touch ups. That is, when we eventually start going out to real life events again.
Keep reading for five multitaskers that do double (or triple) the work.
Milk Makeup Glow Oil Lip + Cheek
Milk Makeup’s Glow Oil serves up some major “just emerged from a sun-drenched pool” looks. Apply on cheeks for a healthy sheen, or, swipe on lips and and eyelids for a subtle glow. The solid oil formula manages to be vibrant but also sheer and dewy as hell. Don’t be put off by the mini size — this outlasts both humidity and torrential rain (living proof here).
The Multiple has gained its cult status for a reason — it’s a stick that can do the most. Try the shade South Beach for a rosy candlelit glow on cheeks, which can also be built up on lids in lieu of eyeshadow. This multitasking makeup legend can also be used on lips and topped with lipgloss, so you can create an entire look with this.
Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer Concealer
One foundation to rule them all? Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Enhancer really is just that. The concentrated formula is basically witchcraft in a jar. Whilst this works like a dream as a no-nonsense, heavy-duty concealer on blemishes and dark circles, you can also mix with a few drops of your preferred nourishing face oil to transform into a super sheer skin tint.
I have not come across a single person who does not sing the praises of Glossier’s Cloud Paint. It’s just that damn good. When tapped into the high points of your cheeks, it works beautifully as a blush. I’ve also been into dabbing the shade Dusk on my lids for a neutral eye, and the shade Haze gives me dreamy crushed raspberry looking lips. It’s a multitude of products in one little tube.
Colourpop Glass Bull Pressed Shadow
Colourpop describe this shadow as a “duochrome lavender icy blue” which in my humble opinion does not give this ethereal shade enough credit. Glassbull not only looks awesome on its own, but also completely transforms other shades with its stunning reflections of green and purple. Also it only costs $4.50, which I still cannot get over.
