When it comes to curating a skincare routine, I struggle. Although I love all things skincare, I prefer a low-maintenance routine versus a 12-step beauty practice I’d have to do every single day. With new products coming out constantly, I often feel overwhelmed by the endless amount of options offered to me. My bathroom counter is littered with various serums, oils, and cleansers that I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to organize into one streamlined system. As a busy person, I found myself constantly fantasizing about a simple routine that gave me my best skin with the least amount of work.
Well, those wishes were answered by Facile Skincare’s Core Four set. The four piece range includes their Bare Necessity Hyaluronic Acid Gel Cleanser, Barely There Moisturizer, Dew You Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and Lip Jelly Lip Moisturizer. I put all four to the test, and I have some thoughts.
Let me start by saying this: I’ve never gotten into sets. They’ve always seemed like a huge investment, and my commitment issues wouldn’t let me stick to one brand for multiple products. However, Facile has completely changed my view on this. First, the sleek and uniform packaging looks totally chic on my counter in comparison to my random assortment of bottles and jars. Second, this set removed all the guesswork of mixing and matching products, and instead gave me that effortless (and affordable) routine of my dreams.
Onto the products. Bare Necessity Hyaluronic Acid Gel Cleanser is super gentle, but hydrating. Although it wasn’t quite strong enough to remove all of my makeup in one go, my face was left feeling clean without any dryness. Barely There Moisturizer lived up to its name; this lightweight cream absorbed nicely into my skin without any greasiness. I personally like it as a daytime moisturizer (I prefer a richer cream at night). As someone that is particular about her lip products, Lip Jelly lived up to my standards. Not only was it moisturizing, it also had a long wear time and it even made my lips look fuller and plumper. Last but certainly not least is the standout product: Dew You Hyaluronic Acid Serum. A good hyaluronic serum is an absolute staple in my skincare collection, so as you can imagine, I’ve tried many different ones throughout my life. Texture is always the deciding factor for me, and oftentimes formulas tend to be either too watery or too sticky. But with Dew You, Facile managed to create a hyaluronic acid serum with the perfect viscosity. With this product, a little goes a long way — one pump gently patted into the skin gave me a dewy glow that lasted throughout the day. This is hands down my favorite part of the set.
Overall, the Core Four is functional and effective, but doesn’t compromise on style or luxury in its appearance and feel. In my opinion, it works best as a morning skincare routine: the products are all so lightweight and provide the perfect base for makeup. It quickly became my AM regime simply because it’s easy to execute! This set has cut my time spent in the bathroom in half and doubled my bathroom counter space.
