theSKIN Audit: This Clean Face Mask Is Like A Green Juice For Your Skin

superfood, for your face.

As a young picky eater, I never liked eating anything green. Spinach? Gross. Broccoli? Don’t even think about it. Chopped parsley? Send it back. You couldn’t pay me to touch food in that color category. But since I’ve reached adulthood I’m happy to report that I have evolved. “Green things” are part of my everyday life —which, of course, involves my skincare routine. These days, I’m slathering green all over my face with Golde’s Clean Greens Mask. Honestly, it might be my favorite green thing yet.

There’s no doubt you’ve heard the phrase, “You are what you eat.” You already know that what you consume impacts your body, and ultimately, your skin. Of course, it isn’t just about what you put in your body, but what you put on it too. From heavy makeup products to environmental pollutants, anything that touches your skin leaves an impact. That’s why it’s so important to give your skin the love it needs (and deserves!). Need a detox? Golde’s Clean Greens Mask has you covered, literally. Truly it’s like a green juice for your face.

There’s a reason that Golde’s Clean Greens mask is one of this Black-owned beauty and wellness brand’s most popular products. The powdery formula, which turns into a thick gel after adding a few drops of water, is a mix of four (!) organic and 100% edible ingredients: mango juice powder, marshmallow root extract, spirulina powder, and chlorella powder. Together, they serve up soft, clear, and glowing skin, not to mention an Instagram-worthy at-home mask moment.

After I tried it for the first time, my skin felt instantly rejuvenated. I attribute this to the short and uncomplicated ingredient list. No clay, no chemicals, no grit. What you see is what you get, and what you get are clean ingredients that lead to a luminous complexion even in the dullest days of winter (no, I’m not exaggerating).

I went all-in with the recommended one teaspoon, which felt amazing and like the tall glass of water my skin needed. The mask became a taught, leathery layer as it dried, but it didn’t feel dehydrating (a major win in my book). And while I was eager to see my rejuvenated face at the end, rinsing it off took time and patience — especially since I wasn’t trying to turn every surface in my bathroom green. Since then, I’ve played with the proportions, opting for a lighter application that still feels adequate for my masking needs.

The great thing about this mask is that it’s so straightforward. Simple ingredients, simple instructions. But on top of that, it’s just plain fun — which happens to be a primary focus in Golde’s mission for wellness and skincare. Golde’s Clean Greens Mask is now a regular part of my weekly skin routine, and I have no doubt it’ll be part of yours too.
