7 Beauty Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

Add these to your Spotify queue.

Not to exaggerate, but podcasts were the best thing to happen to me. They served as the perfect source for education and entertainment, all while fitting into my daily commutes. That is, until I stopped working in an office. The days of splitting my attention between a gripping true crime drama and rush hour traffic have long since passed. But after months in quarantine, I’ve exhausted other forms of entertainment. So now I’m turning back to tried-and-trusted podcasts that I can tune into anywhere, anytime. Including of course — beauty podcasts.

Perhaps you find yourself in a similar predicament. Knowing you — lover of all things hair, skin, and makeup — you’re probably looking for the best beauty podcasts as well. Lucky for you, there’s a full range of options available for streaming. Whether you’re in between Zoom meetings, prepping for a socially distanced road trip, or just need something to have on in the background while you’re washing dishes, here are the beauty podcasts worth listening to now.

Gloss Angeles

Led by Los Angeles beauty reporter Kirbie Johnson and editor Sara Tan, Gloss Angeles takes a deep dive into everything you need to know in the industry. They break down the latest news on your favorite brands, demystify viral beauty myths and trends, and dish on their favorite products of the moment. The cherry on top? Their star-studded guest list of industry vets, including Jonathan Van Ness (can you believe?).

Breaking Beauty

Beauty editors Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins come together to discuss the breakthrough business moments of the beauty realm. If you’re eager to pull the curtain back on the most popular brands and items out there (including the suggested products in their #damngood reviews) this will be your go-to. Plus, you’ll get insider knowledge and tips from their expert guests.

The Naked Beauty Podcast

Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli’s Naked Beauty Podcast features in-depth talks with each of her guests. Her real thoughts on beauty trends, wellness, and products shine through in each episode. However, it’s her personal approach to every detail that makes this show stand out. Plus, her voice is ultra-soothing.

Fat Mascara

Listening to an episode of Fat Mascara is like being in a conversation with your best friends. Hosts Jessica Matlin (fashion director at Harper’s Bazaar) and Jennifer Goldstein (beauty director and features editor at Marie Claire) bring their unfiltered insights on news, products, and treatments in the beauty world straight to you.

Glowing Up

The moment I started listening to Glowing Up, I knew it was going to be good (I love a good theme song!). Hosts Caroline Goldfarb and Esther Povitsky review products and share insights on the beauty world in an entertaining and comedic way. These two don’t sugarcoat anything.

The Beauty Brains

Navigating lengthy ingredient lists can be tough. The Beauty Brains, brought to you by two cosmetic chemists, makes it a little easier by breaking down everything that’s going into your products. If you are fascinated by innovative products and what goes into them, this is for you.

The Double Cleanse

Hosted by skincare enthusiast James Welsh and makeup artist Robert Welsh, The Double Cleanse gives you the tips you need for a beautiful complexion, whether you’re wearing makeup or not. They delve into social media culture and advertising, so you can get the inside scoop on sponsorship, brands, and more.
