We’ve all been there. One innocent cocktail that turns into three, and suddenly you’re a couch prisoner for a full 24 hours later — desperately trying to get back to normalcy. It’s a true headache both literally and figuratively and might have you second guessing if you ever want to venture out again.
For those of us who would never dare make that kind of commitment, there are alternatives. We consulted Shauna Faulisi, celebrity nutritionist and wellness chef who knows a thing or two about choosing ingredients that not only taste good but are also good for you.
“I’ve put together a list of recipes that can easily be made a mocktail, or into a cocktail. All of these recipes are loaded with antioxidants, ingredients to rehydrate, and have nominal amounts of sugar which is greatly responsible for that post-drinking depression.
If you do decide to go down the alcohol path, be sure you’re drinking a glass of water between each cocktail. And before bed, rehydrate with some mineral salt, as alcohol is a diuretic, and have vitamin c, glutathione, and magnesium ready to go (as long as your doctor says it’s okay!)”
Delicious, not bad on the body and also Instagrammable? Let’s dive in! Here are 5 cocktail recipes that won’t leave you totally depressed the next day.

Blueberry Cinnamon Fizz
The only sugar in this cocktail is from the fresh berries, which are so full of antioxidants that you’re doing yourself a big favor! The drink is delightfully pretty and will help rehydrate you as you continue to drink them into your night.
What you’ll need:
– ⅓ cup fresh blueberries
– 2 oz. top shelf vodka of your choice (optional)
– SOUND Blueberry + Cinnamon with Hibiscus Tea.
– Cinnamon stick
– Ice
How to make:
1. In a mortar and pestle, muddle your blueberries. You can also use a muddler in your cocktail shaker, or use a blender or food processor with a little bit of water, being careful not to puree the blueberries.
2. Fill cocktail shaker with ice, vodka, and muddled blueberries. Shake in cocktail shaker for 20 seconds (hard enough to crush ice).
3. Pour into glass and fill with SOUND tea to the brim.
4. Garnish with cinnamon stick.

Spice Girl Mezcal Margarita
By forgoing the traditional sugary liqueur, you’re already setting yourself up to win with this take on the traditional margarita. The high doses of vitamin c will help your liver stay happy and speed up the process of detoxing the alcohol out of your system.
What you’ll need:
– 1 lime
– 1 orange
– 1 packet of Purecane
– 3 oz. of mezcal (optional)
– Pink Himalayan sea salt
– Cayenne pepper
– Slice of jalapeño
– Ice
How to make:
1. In a cocktail shaker, add ice, Purecane, mezcal, lime juice, orange juice and pulp, and shake hard for 20 seconds (to break up ice).
2. On a small plate, mix your sea salt and cayenne pepper to taste depending on how much of a kick you like. Use one of the squeezed limes to wet the rim of your glass, then dip the rim into your salt/cayenne mix to coat.
3. Pour your mixture into your glass and garnish with a slice of jalapeño.

CBD Russian with Caramel
CBD helps to bring down inflammation in the body, so it’s going to help prevent the dreaded hangover and low mood. Almond milk is a great alternative to heavy cream because well, we just don’t need heavy cream! This cocktail will give you that heavy mouthfeel with a dash of sweetness using higher quality sugars than what you’ll find in a traditional White Russian.
What you’ll need:
– 2 Sweet Apricity Caramels
– 1 scoop Vybes CBD Powder
– 1 heaping tablespoon Good Mylk Almond Mylk Creamer
– 6 oz. room temperature water
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
– 1 packet of Purecane sweetener
– 2 oz. top shelf vodka of your choice (optional)
– Fresh mint garnish
– Ice
How to make:
1. Heat a pot on low heat. Place Sweet Apricity Caramels in the pot, and melt.
2. While caramels melt, scoop Almond Mylk Powder, and Vybes CBD powder into your blender, combined with water, vanilla extract and Purecane. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds until frothy.
3. While it’s blending, drizzle the melted caramel into your glass. Have fun and get it on the sides as well — this will make it look decadent!
4. Place a scoop of ice inside your caramel-coated glass, followed by vodka.
5. Turn your blender off and pour into glass immediately. Let it sit for approximately 10 seconds in the glass, and a frothy top will form.
6. Garnish with a fresh mint leaf, and voila!
“It’s best to skip alcohol altogether…but that’s not always going to happen.”

2. Place ice in a highball glass, then add your cooled + smashed raspberries and your tequila. Fill the rest of your glass with the ginger kombucha.
3. Serve with a sprig of rosemary.

Strawberries & Cream
It’s very rare to find a cocktail that’s packed with fiber as well as good fats! Olipop is a unique sparkling beverage with prebiotic fiber and the flavor is oh-so-delicious. Fresh vanilla beans are heaven on earth.
